We do not produce or sell touch up paint. To maintain the frame finish during the life of the bicycle, we recommend touching-up with a solvent-based paint. These can be sourced from hobby stores in 10 to 20ml bottles with integral brush applicators. They are typically enamel paints, but acrylic paints are becoming increasingly available. The factory-applied finish is a result of a powder-coat – applied electrostatically – so cannot be recreated in a bicycle workshop or at home. However, touch-up paints serve well to aesthetically improve the frame finish if scratched and guard against corrosion.
We now provide the RAL and Pantone codes for colourways (a type of standardised colour ID number) so that paints can be sourced locally. The paint code for the Brompton B75 in the Water Blue colourway is RAL 5021.
